I'm off to teach an ATC class tonight, so I'm going to give you a little preview of what we'll be doing. This marbelizing technique can be done with many products, but just wait until you try it with your Smooch Inks -- it's gorgeous!
Start with a shallow dish of water, straight from the tap. Use a plastic dish that you don't use for food, and that you can dedicate to this technique. Now, pick a few colors of Smooch Ink. Colors that are in the same family work well together, I chose Pool (SN70414) as my first color. Shake the ink bottle, then remove the cap. Touch the brush tip lightly to the surface of the water. You will see the color spread lightly across the surface of the water. Keep touching the applicator tip to the surface, the color will start to build up. Add a second color (Azure SN70404), and this time you'll see dots of the color forming. You can add additional colors until you're happy with the amount of color.
Then take a wooden stick or a wide comb, and slowly move the color on the surface of the water. Create a pattern you're happy with, then drop a piece of card stock on the surface of the water.
Pick up the paper with your fingertips and turn it over on scrap paper or a paper towel. You can use a heat tool to dry it quickly.
Here's the first ATC sized marbleized card. After about 20 minutes, I had all of these...
As you can see, you can get carried away with this technique -- but who cares, it's fun!
If you're changing your color scheme, remember to change the water in your dish, too. Colors remain in the water, and you may not get the results you want.
Experiment with different papers. Try a glossy card stock or a light colored card stock for a different base color.
After my marblizing play time was over, check out how I used some of these pieces in my art. I used them in ATC's, cards and mini books.
I had a blast, I hope you'll try it. Can't wait for my class tonight. I'll be sure to take my camera and share what the class comes up with.
YOU ARE KILLING ME!!! I love this so much!!! I was going to try and come tonight but we are packing for Montauk for a week. I need need need some smooch ink ......

I can't wait for your workshop! Another great application for Smooch. Of course, this will necessitate more Smooch colors.
